An online word search game with a real opponent on the other side
Tap Play Online and you go into a queue. The next real person who arrives is your opponent, and you are both dropped into the same match. No room to make, no code to type, no account to create.

First time? How to Play
Already picked one for you — change it if you like.
What happens when you tap Play Online
You join a queue of everyone else waiting at that moment. When a second player arrives, the server creates a room, puts you both in it, and the match begins. The whole thing usually takes a few seconds and needs nothing from you except a nickname.
The waiting screen shows one number: how long you have been waiting. There is no queue position, no player count and no estimate, because those would be made up — and there is no timer that quietly gives up and starts a game against the computer. If it is quiet, the screen says so and keeps waiting.
Quick Match uses one fixed setup so the queue never splits into people who can never meet: words, a pool of 40, a 4×4 grid, 30 seconds to choose, best of three. If you want numbers, letters, a bigger pool or a longer match, that is whata private room with a friend is for.
Why "online" here means the server runs the match
Both players see the same pool of words, generated from the same seed, so neither gets an easier board. Whose turn it is, whether a tap found the right word, how long the chooser has left and who won the round are all decided by the server — never by the browser. A player who tampers with their own copy of the game changes nothing about the match.
The clock is the server's too. If you background the tab, lock your phone, or your battery saver freezes the page, the round still moves on properly when the time is up. Nothing depends on your device keeping count.
What you need to play
- A browser. Any modern one — the game is built and tested for mobile Safari and Chrome first.
- No download, no app store, no extension.
- No account, no email, no password.
- Your opponent can be on anything. A phone against a laptop is a completely normal match — the layout adapts, and the pool is identical on both.
Not in the mood to wait? Learn the rules against the bot first — it plays by exactly the same rules and runs entirely on your device.
How to play
Choose → Find → Fill → Switch → Repeat. Fill your grid to take the round; win the rounds to take the match.
Choose
On your turn, pick any item from the scattered pool — a word, a number or a letter. You have 30 seconds.
Find
Your opponent has to spot that exact item among all the others and tap it.
Fill
While they search, you tap cells on your own grid. Every tap fills one X.
Switch
The moment they find it, your fill window closes and the roles swap.
Common questions
- Do I need an account to play online?
- No. There is no sign-up, no email and no login anywhere in the game. You pick a nickname and a character, and that is the whole setup.
- How long does it take to find an opponent?
- As long as it takes another real person to arrive. You are paired with the next player who joins the queue — the game will never invent an opponent or quietly hand you the bot, so on a quiet day you may wait.
- What happens if my connection drops mid-match?
- Your seat is held. The room keeps your grid, the score, the round and the target, and reconnecting puts you back exactly where you were. Only if you are still gone after 90 seconds does the match go to the other player.
